FAQ
General
Do you accept one-off bookings?
Yes of course! You can book whether you need a recurring, regular service or a one-off walk, visit or sitting. Please note that an initial meet-and-greet will still be required to determine suitability on both sides as well as to exchange important information such as your pet's registered veterinary clinic details.
Are you insured?
Yes. I am fully insured for dog walking, pet sitting, pet minding, and related petcare services.
What is your deposit + cancellation policy?
For ongoing/daily bookings, I politely request at least a couple of hours' notice for cancellations. Cancellations made less than an hour before the service is due to be provided will be invoiced at 50% of the usual booking fee. No deposit or advance payment is required for ongoing regular bookings.
What would happen if my pet became injured or ill while with you?
During our meet-and-greet, I will ask you for the details of an emergency contact along with the name of the veterinary clinic your pet is registered with. In the event of sickness or injury, you (or your nominated contact) will be notified immediately. If veterinary care is required, I will take your pet to their registered vet where possible, or to the nearest vet (Manor Vets, Edgbaston).
How do I pay?
I use Square, which makes things super easy for you and me!
Dog walking
Are walks on or off leash?
This is your choice! It all depends on your preference, your dog's recall behaviour, and the recall bond between myself and your dog. I will not walk a dog off leash without your permission nor if I am uncertain of their recall in any scenario. Intermitten leashing or a long line will be used where necessary, to prioritise the safety of your dog.
What happens during extreme weather? (heatwaves, heavy snow, heavy rain, etc.)
Your individual dog's needs come first in all cases. For instance, I will not walk brachycephalic breeds (e.g. Pugs, Frenchies, Cavaliers) for long periods in the middle of the day in hot temperatures. Similarly, I will not walk small elderly dogs or very small toy breeds such as Chihuahuas for long periods during the deep winter.
I have more than two dogs. Can you walk them all at the same time?
Of course, if you'd like me to! I will walk up to three dogs from the same household at one time, providing they are all well leash trained and comfortable with being walked together.
What if my dog is shy, nervous or reactive with other dogs?
I am very comfortable with shy, nervous and reactive dogs and respect their need for extra space. I will discuss this with you and pay special attention to the routes we take so that we can avoid busy areas as much as possible.
Where will you walk my pup?
If you live close to a grassy area such as St Paul's Square, Warstone Lane Cemetery or Key Hill Cemetary, this will be our destination! If you have a specific route you'd prefer me to take your pup on, you're also welcome to let me know!
My dog pulls on the leash / runs up to other dogs / sometimes ignores recall - can I still register with you?
For the wellbeing of your pup and myself, all dogs registered with me must be able to walk comfortably on a loose leash and have good recall if off leash.
